O problema todo começou justamente por tentar instalar o pacote mais novo sem as dependências.
O link que lhe passei é o do Ubuntu 14.04, é o Libreoffice ideal para ele. Uma vez tentei instalar o Libre mais novo aqui e aconteceu a mesma coisa, quebrou o sistema. mas removendo o ppa e reinstalado o pacote tudo voltou ao normal.
para ver se o sistema está tentando instalar o pacote correto faz
apt show libreoffice
