Problema com HD externo em NTFS

Boa tarde pessoal,

Está acontecendo o seguinte, tenho que fazer backup dos dados de um pc que tem o Mandriva corrompido e por isso coloquei um live CD do Ubuntu 10.04 para poder pegar os dados do mesmo e colocá-los em um HD externo. Tentei colocá-los no meu pc que tem o Ubuntu 12.04 e deu o mesmo erro ao montá-los (ambos são em NTFS):

Não foi possível montar a localização

NTFS is either inconsistent, or there is a hardware fault, or it's a
SoftRAID/FakeRAID hardware. In the first case run chkdsk /f on Windows
then reboot into Windows twice. The usage of the /f parameter is very
important! If the device is a SoftRAID/FakeRAID then first activate
it and mount a different device under the /dev/mapper/ directory, (e.g.
/dev/mapper/nvidia_eahaabcc1). Please see the 'dmraid' documentation
for more details.

Gostaria de saber se seria possível resolver isso, para poder fazer o backup o mais rápido possível.

No Windows rode o comando

chkdsk /f

no Hd com problema e vê se resolve.

Como faço para acessá-lo se eu não consigo nem montar o HD? Porqe o problema eh assim, tô tentando passar os dados do pc para um hd externo via live cd do ubuntu. se eu fizesse esse procedimento em um pc com windows, depois ele seria reconhecido no linux?

Sim.

Você deve primeiro verificar a integridade do disco no Windows rodando o comando passado (de uma lida no link que te passei que deve te ajudar também).

Depois de verificado a integridade do disco e constatado que tudo foi arrumado e o disco não esteja com bad block, reinicie o live-cd e depois plug o hd externo para ser reconhecido de boa. Caso só tenha permissão e leitura, instale no live-cd mesmo o pacote 'ntfsprogs', ntfs-3g' e 'ntfs-config', assim terá permissão para escrita e gravação.

Tentei colocá-lo no windows e dá aquele bom e velho probleminha que o manda formatar. Tentei fazer o chkdsk só que não deu certo pq diz que o HD está em RAW.

Tentei agora com o outro HD que estava com o mesmo problema, sendo que nesse o chkdsk F: /f rodou e deu o seguinte resultado:
