A algum tempo, tive problemas com a minha distribuição
Linux, pois toda vez que eu utilizava o comando
sudo apt-get update, o sistema retornava um erro de arquivos duplicados.
Segue o erro:

W: Você terá que executar apt-get update para corrigir estes problemas
Bem, depois de muito procurar, acabei por notar uma configuração extra destro do arquivo
/etc/apt/sources.list. Enfim, dei cabo neste problema da seguinte forma:
1. Abri o terminal e digitei:
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
2. Com o arquivo aberto, naveguei até a última linha e comentei o endereço:
#deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-security multiverse universe main restricted
3. Salvei e voltei a dar o comando:
sudo apt-get update
E pronto, meu problema foi resolvido.
Segue a versão final do meu arquivo
etc/apt/sources.list.
