erro não consigo instalar programas no ubuntu 14.10 nem pela central,nem pelo terminal.

ola pessoal,peço a ajuda de vcs.
ontem instalei o ubuntu 14.10 e fui reproduzir uma musica,mas precisava de codecs,fui baixar o ubuntu restricted extras pela central mas nao aparece o botao de instalar.tentei todos os comando que vi no terminal e nada.
apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras
apt-get update/upgrade
e nada
quando uso o apt-get upgrade para instalar os repositorios da o seguinte erro:

Como Ubuntu-14.10 já está sem suporte desde julho/2015 sugiro que:
1-faça bkp de seus arquivos
2-faça instalação limpa partir do dvd/pendrive do ubuntu-14.04-lts que terá suporte até abril/2019 ou do ubuntu-15.10 que terá suporte até julho/2016

Mais uma vítima do Unicórnio... Esse Ubuntu 14.10 está fazendo um estrago... hehehe!
Amigo, essa versão do Ubuntu não possui mais suporte. Instale a versão de suporte estendido 14.04.3 LTS ou, se preferir, a última versão 15.10 (mas, fique sabendo que é uma versão de testes e que o suporte só dura 9 meses a partir do lançamento): http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Ta passando da hora do Ubuntu tomar uma postura e criar uma versão roling release para pessoas de casa e deixar essas paradas de lts do pra empresas que pagam o suporte...
Isso é um verdadeiro tiro no pé.

Basta usar versões LTS que tem suporte por 5 anos >> Recommended for most users.
