Problemas ao conectar wifi ubuntu12.04

Ola, desde que instalei o ubuntu no meu notebook hp, tive problemas em conectar a redes wifis. Consigo conectar, entretanto o sinal fica horrivel mesmo quando colado ao roteador, se me afasto cerca de 3 metros o sinal e perdido. Ja tentei fazer de tudo, aparentemente os drivers da placa estao atualizados, alguem pode me ajudar?

Se o sinal consegue ser captado isso não parece ser problema de configuração, talvez seja problema de hardware.

NO mercado há modens com antenas que podem ser
espetados no USB do micro.

Deveria funcionar.

Tem como testar em outra rede?

E testar a sua rede com outro note book?

Amigo, acho que o problema é no ubuntu mesmo. A rede da minha casa funciona perfeitamente no windows e em outros aparelhos, só não funciona como deveria no ubuntu mesmo. Aliás, já testei a conexão wifi do linux em outras redes, e ela é tão ruim quanto :(

Qual é a sua placa-wifi?

Abra o terminal e rode o comando : lspci

Depois poste a saida das linhas network e ethernet controler

Conecte-se na internet via cabo e ative sua broadcom com esta dica:

obs: dica tbém funciona no ubuntu e distros derivadas

Segui os comandos e apareceu a seguinte mensagem de erro:

1- conecte-se na internet via cabo

2-atualize o ubuntu >> abra terminal >> dode os comandos:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade

3-siga a dica acima >> aqui funcionou muito bem no meu dell-1525 com essa mesma wifi

-vc digitou errado >> não é firmwere-b43-instal
-o correto é firmware-b43-installer
-copie e cole comando abaixo no terminal

sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter firmware-b43-installer

Conecte-se na internet via cabo >> vá em drivers-adicionais >> ative driver recomendado >> reinicie máquina
Aqui tbém funcionou no dell-1525 com essa wifi usando o 12.04-lts

Ativei o driver adicional e aparentemente ficou tudo ok, obrigado amigo!!!
