1. WIFI adaptador USB [RESOLVIDO]

Boa Tarde, instalei o Ubuntu 10, kernel 2.6.32.24, quando instalei, usei o dispositivo wifi adaptador que é ligado em uma antena, no caso antheros, o mesmo é reconhecido no sistema como Zydas (wlan1) na parte grafica consigo ver o dispositivo, mas esta mostrando como desabilitado, tentei abilitar de diversas maneiras, ex:

#ifconfig após esse comando não consigo ver a interface em questão,
mas se...
#ifconfig wlan1 up, consigo ver a interface em questão, a mesma na parte grafica continua como rede desabilitada, ja tentei instalar o driver, através de varios manuais, inclusive aqui do vol, sempre sem sucesso, como o dispositivo é usb, fui em sistema-adm-hardware e nada.

pessoal, perdoe-me a falta de conhecimento, mas sempre tive sucesso em meus "passeios" com
linux como so tenho net via wifi (antena c/ adaptador usb) não tem como atualizar meu ubuntu,
alguém tem alguma dica?

use o comando

lsusb -v

e posta somente a parte do seu adaptador wifi

Seu driver é o ZD1211B e pode ser encontrado aqui http://sourceforge.net/projects/zd1211/files/zd1211-firmware/1.4/zd1211-firmware-1.4.tar.bz2/downloa...

Depois do download, descompacte o arquivo

tar jxvf zd1211-firmware-1.4.tar.bz2

entre na pasta do arquivo descompactado

cd zd1211-firmware

Como root ou usando sudo, crie a pasta que irá recepcionar os arquivos a serem copiados

mkdir /lib/firmware/zd1211b

Como root ou usando sudo, copie todos os arquivos zd1211b para /lib/firmware/zd1211b

cp zd1211b_* /lib/firmware/zd1211b

Reinicie

Caso não dê certo você pode tentar usando o driver da Atheros AR5007UG que é o mesmo chipset porém atualizado pela Atheros, que comprou a ZyDAS.

Também tive este problema com duas wireless usb: Dlink e Tplink em uma máquina, a solução dependendo do caso pode mais simples: Downgrade do kernel:
Instalei o o kernel: linux-image-2.6.31-10-rt_2.6.31-10.153_i386 (padrão do 9.10, notei que no 9.10 funcionava normalmente)

Aqui a contra-indicação foi o virtual box não funcionar, mas como o usuário não usa ele, o problema da wireless foi resolvido no Ubuntu 10.04.

Não aconselho downgrade. A essas alturas já existe uma versão mais nova do Ubuntu que pode funcionar normalmente, então em último caso (caso não consiga fazer funcionar no 10) recomendo o upgrade para o 11.04.
