esse espelho nacional do Ubuntu às vezes dá erro, experimente substituir onde está: ' http://br.archive.ubuntu.com ' por ' http://archive.ubuntu.com ', apenas retirar o ' br. '

abra o sources.list com o Gedit:

$ sudo /etc/apt/sources.list

Cole isso daqui:

### Ubuntu Main.

A seguir instale a chave GPG do Medibuntu:

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install medibuntu-keyring
$ sudo apt-get update

Atualize o Sistema:

$ sudo apt-get upgrade
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Adicione repositórios extras como o Wine e outros, por exemplo:

# VirtualBox:
$ sudo add-apt-repository "deb http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian lucid non-free"

# Wine.
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/ubuntu-wine/ppa/ubuntu lucid main


# instalar as chaves GPG do VirtualBox e Wine:
$ wget -q http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian/oracle_vbox.asc -O- | sudo apt-key add -
$ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys F9CB8DB0
