problema instalacao lmule

OLa pessoal. Sou novo no linux e ja to com problemas com uma coisa que sempre quis evitar por nunca ter conseguido, ./configure, make etc.

O meu problema é com o lmule.
Fiz tudo direitinho, mas na hora de instalar da o seguinte erro:

Eu ja instalei algumas coisas pelo gerenciador de pacotes etc que não tinha - gcc, make etc, inclusive esse tal de libexpat que ta como libexpat1 lá, e não sei como resolver.

Agradeço qualquer ajudar para vencer esse trauma com compilacao que tenho :)

Comigo funcionou assim:

apt-get install libexpat-dev

Instalando esse pacote o erro cessou

veja o comentário anterior,vc precisa do pacote libspat..
A compilação, ./configure e depois make depois, make install, estou acostumado! rsrrs
quase tudo o que se usa ou instala, em sabayon e Gentoo, é compilado assim!
O gcc+ é o compilador C++ default de vários linux de compilação.
Costuma funcionar bem, no seu caso , acho,será só seguir o comentário anterior e dar um apt-get libexpat-dev ou libexpat
