Cara o [*****] é que não to como meu note aqui, então não posso fazer testes, só tenho como ir na base do chutómetro, mas vai lá:

Já tentaste comentar todas as linhas do sources.list?
Se não, tente fazer isto e em seguida siga esses passos:
#sudo apt-get clean
#sudo apt-get update
e depois vá descomentando as linhas e dando
#sudo apt-get update
pra ver no que da.

ainda nao resolvi o problema pessoal...

eu sempre atualizei meu ubuntu, derepente deu pau!

sempre esse erro, tanto qndo executo: aptidude, apt-get, synaptic... sempre esse erro:

Tive o mesmo problema agora. No Ubuntu e com o arquivo /var/li.../br.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_feisty_universe_binary-i386_Packages

Fiz o dito pelo colega de adicionar a entrada no arquivo /etc/apt/apt.conf e também não funcionou. Porém verificando o tamanho do arquivo com falha vi que ultrapassa o limite estipulado pelo comando na configuração. então aumentei para 150000000 e funcionou.

Arrumei aqui. Tenta ai
Edita /etc/apt/apt.conf
add/edita: APT::Cache-Limit "150000000";

Agora aparece o erro:

Pelo q vi o seu problema é referente ao cache do apt, a solução seria aumentar o tamanho do cache como ja foi dito, agora tem que ver se a partição /var, onde o cache esta não esta cheia ou com pouco espaço, talvez isso tenha efeito, e outra duvida pq esta usando repositorios do debian no ubuntu?
Não acho isso uma boa, o ubuntu tem ropositorios proprios, tente deixar somente na lista. repositorios de default do ubuntu, e atualiza ele.
