Dificuldade para atualizar

1. Dificuldade para atualizar

Tenho uma máquina dual boot, com windows e linux. Instalei o Windows e depois o Linux, agora o Linux veio sem nenhuma atualização (LTS 14.04), e tb quando vou atualizar com o apt-get update ele não atualiza da erro de não encontrado na maioria dos links. Já entrei em um site que monta o sources.list, onde você escolhe que tipo de pacote você quer adicionar em seu arquivo. Mesmo assim sem sucesso.
Se alguem puder ajudar e souber o que eu tenho que fazer pra ele voltar a funcionar normalmente agradeço.

PPA's... ninguém mandou usar, agora só se ferrou. Remova todas as PPA's do sistema, limpe os caches do apt e tente novamente.

Vamos tentar resolver isso aí.
Precisa verfificar o sources.list do Ubuntu e remover os PPAs que já não funcionam mais ou causando conflito.

Tá ai. Comentei os ppa's, mas continua do mesmo jeito. A única maneira que eu consegui resolver isso uma única vez foi recompilando o kernel. Porém não consegui visto que falta bibliotecas e o sistema não está atualizando. Será que pode ser algum problema na minha instalação? Eu baixei o linux direto no site do ubuntu. Tem algum local que eu possa baixar ele completo e atualizado?

Fabrício, está uma "salada" isso aí....repositórios do 10.04 Lucid no meio disso tudo. Acho também que vc deveria fazer uma nova instalação limpa da .ISO do Ubuntu. Baixe-o daqui que é garantido:

NOTA: Baixe o 14.04.2 LTS. Se tem mais de 2 RAM, baixe a arquitetura de 64-b. E NÃO se esqueça de fazer bkps antes.

Primeiro vamos fazer uma coisa. Veja esta dica:

Na dica, tem uma tela mostrando como mudar o servidor no Brasil para o servidor principal.

E veja também em: /etc/source.list.d

Feito tudo isso, logado como root, siga esta sequência de comandos. Um por vez, seguido de Enter:

dpkg --configure -a
apt-get -f install
apt-get -f remove
apt-get update

Pessoal realmente não sei o que fazer para solucionar meu problema. Baixei a iso direto do site conforme vocês me passaram, e mesmo assim logo após eu terminar a instalação ele não faz nenhum update.
