Proxy consume quase toda a largura de banda do link

Boa tarde Pessoal,

Tenho um servidor proxy squid (Squid Cache: Version 3.3.13) rolando num Suse v12, o filtrado e restrições das acl funionam sem problema. O problema esta que o endereço ip proxy esta consumindo toda a largura de banda disponivel no link de internet, peço uma força para vocês se conhecem um jeito de conhecer o PC que tem mais consumo da banda.

Conexão:

Link internet 5M --> Firewall--> Server Squid

No firewall de minha rede consegui aplicar uma restrição para que o servidor squid não pegue toda a largura de banda disponivel, aplique um limiter de 3M Upload/Download, o problema é que a navegação fica muito lenta. Quando vejo o states do firewall todo o link esta ocupado pelo endereço IP do squid.

Você tem 5M de largura de banda e para navegação está bom.
Você não pode delegar todo o 5M apenas para navegação.
Você limitou para 3M, deixou a navegação lenta e isto é crítico.
Então...
A única opção é contratar uma largura de banda maior e reservar 5M para navegação.

Quem esta consumindo toda a banda, o servidor ou o squid?
Se for o squid, isso só acontece quando tem cliente, ou o proxy faz acesso a todo momento, independente de ter pedido de cliente?

Se sim, não sei o que é mas eu arriscaria um palpite que pode ser relativo a atualização de cache, reveja os parâmetros que você deixo no refresh_pattern , mas antes se certifique que é mesmo o squid que esta consumindo a banda da wan, sem clientes usando o proxy.

Obrigado texmode pela resposta, o assunto esta que por enquanto não é possível aumentar a largura de banda por problemas de burocracia na empresa, não entanto vou considerar esse fator.

Não vejo nada errado, no máximo eu mudaria refresh_pattern -i \.html?$ 10 20% 4320 aumentando um pouco os minutos e a porcentagem, mas eu não creio que seja esse o caso, deve ser outra coisa.

Você se certificou que é realmente o squid que esta consumindo banda? com os clientes do proxy sem fazer uso da banda?
