Não detecta wireless!

Olá a todos!

Sempre utilizei o DEBIAN como distribuição, na verdade aprendi muito a partir das primeiras versões do Kurumin.
Mas vamos ao detalhe, tenho um adaptador Wifi TP-Link modelo TL-WN821N. ao conectar ele digitei o comando lsusb e o dmesg
Recebo como resposta respectivamente o seguinte:

Em seguida carreguei o módulo rtl8187 usando modprobe rtl8187

Em seguida com o comando dmesg eu já recebo uma resposta diferente:

Porém a partir da ai, quando digito iwconfig ele mostra:

lo        no wireless extensions

eth0    no wireless extensions

pan0    no wireless extensions 

Se eu pedir para scanear as redes com o iwlist scan
Recebo:

lo        Interface doesn't support scanning

eth0    Interface doesn't support scanning

pan0    Interface doesn't support scanning 

Poxa oq estou fazendo de errado galera? Tenho DEBIAN 6 com kernel 2.6.32-5-686
