Boa tarde, pessoal!

Primeiramente, gostaria de dizer que já tentei várias soluções, inclusive aqui do Viva O Linux, porém nenhuma deu certo.

É o seguinte.

Uso linux aqui no trabalho. Quando foi instalado para mim, em 2015, a versão 14.04, o apt-get funcionava direitinho.
Aqui tem um proxy, o que está devidamente referenciado nas configurações do sistema.

Porém, de uma hora pra outra, o apt-get parou de funcionar, tanto para o subcomando install quanto para o update. Aí, quando dou update, ele retorna a seguinte mensagem:

E: Falhou o download de alguns ficheiros de índice. Foram ignorados ou os antigos foram usados em seu lugar.

Uma coisa que to achando estranho é ele estar buscando um arquivo chamado Packages, sendo que no repositório só existe Packages.gz .

Será que poderiam me dar uma luz para resolver isso?

Os repositórios brasileiros sempre dão esses problema mesmo, cedo ou tarde...

Configurações do sistema > Programas e atualizações > Em: Baixar de, mude para Servidor principal.

Permita com a senha e deixe atualizar.
Quando terminar, mesmo atualizado, use o update no terminal para ver se ainda tem erros.

O Ubuntu 14.04 é LTS. Mas ainda tem suporte?

Se tiver, esse erro de localizar os endereços nos servidores é temporário.
Mas se perdeu o suporte.... já era.

Tem suporte até 2019 (LTS - tem updates por 5 anos)

Aparentemente tudo OK com o seu sources.list
O problema deve ser com o servidor "br", aguarde e tente novamente outro dia.

Então, tem que aguardar.
Como podemos resolver os problemas nos servidores da Canonical ?!

Alguns sugerem comentar, mas não é a solução.

Mudei para "us" e não funcionou. Já tinha tentado isso antes.
