não consigo instalar programa no ubuntu [RESOLVIDO]

Olá pessoal.

Não estou conseguindo instalar o amsn no ubuntu 11.Pois quando tento aparece a seguinte mensagem:root@carol-UDP-GN-ANDROS-G68L:/home/carol# apt-get install amsn
Erro no barramentocotes... 0%.

Já tentei todas as outras formas, central de programas, synaptic e nada.Agradeço a ajuda de vocês antecipadamente.

Abra um terminal e rode:

sudo apt-get update

Poste o resultado aqui.

Não aparece a última parte a qual você se refere pois eu copiei e colei tudo o que apareceu na tela.

Instale:
Abra a central de Programas do ubuntu clique do lado esquerdo em Obter programa e digite no topo:
O primeiro resultado vai ser Amsn clique em instalar
O apt-get não é a melhor maneira pois no ubuntu tem uma central de programas completissima!!!

A central de programas não estava respondendo.Mas o problema foi resolvido com uma nova instalação.
