Uso o Ubuntu 13.10 em uma máquina virtual e ao executar o comando

Ubuntu 13.10 foi lançado em outubro de 2013 e já está sem suporte desde julho/2014
Portanto vc está usando um linux obsoleto e sem suporte qeu não irá atualizar e nem instlaar novos programas
Sugiro que use Ubuntu-14.04-lts que terá suporte até abril/2019

Amigo, dê uma olhadinha aqui:

Troque o CODENAME por saucy

Após isso :

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

 

Ou atualize para o 14.04 pelo terminal (não é muito aconselhavel):

Bem, alterei as linhas do source para atualizar o 13 , o que diminuiu grande parte dos erros , mas ainda assim nao atualizava.
Dessa forma, segui o que me disseram e instalei o 14.04 e resolveu! :)
