Obrigaddo a quem tentou entender meu problema!
Em primeiro lugar é necessário instalar o pacote do checkinstall
apt- get install checkinstall install
após isso baixe o arquivo de instalação open source no site do wireshark
descompacte o mesmo na pasta Downloads usando:
tar -xzvf wireshark"esuaversão".tar.gz
entre na pasta como SU e digite
sudo apt-get install build-essential checkinstall libcurl4-openssl-dev
após isso ainda como SU dentro da pasta wireshark descompactada dentro de Downloads digite:
./configure --with-ssl --enable-setcap-install --with-dumpcap-group=wireshark
depois:
make -j4
depois:
sudo checkinstall --fstrans=no
daí começa o processo checkinstall:
stmiller@brahms:~/Downloads/wireshark-1.10.0$ sudo checkinstall
[sudo] password for stmiller:
checkinstall 1.6.2, Copyright 2009 Felipe Eduardo Sanchez Diaz Duran

o que acontece é que pelo sudo eu não consigo encontrar o wireshark, quando tento executar ele retorna bash: wireshark: comando não encontrado
ao mesmo tempo tenho um atalho no no meu usuário comum para o wireshark instalado mas que só abre como usuário comum e não me da permissão
