Unity [RESOLVIDO]

Uwo ubuntu 11.10. Movido pela curiosidade, atualizei o unity para a versão 5 , com os seguintes procedimentos:

1-sudo add-apt-repository ppa:unity-team/staging
2-sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Depois disso fui ao "ubuntero" e executei via terminal sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libunity.so.9 /usr/lib/libunity.so.6, que era para fazer o brasero funcionar no unit 5, o que de fato ocorreu.

Mas, quando reiniciei a máquina para ver o novo unity, no lugar da logo do ubuntu que fica no canto superior esquerdo, que a gente aciona com a tecla super, apareceu um ícone com uma interrogação no meio.

Pensando ser uma das alterações da nova versão, dei-lhe um gostoso clique! Aí a barra do unity sumiu. Fiquei a deriva sem poder acessar o meu HD.

Tentei resolver.Dei a um CTRL+Alt+F2, loguei e tasquei um sudo apt-get install unity. Até aí beleza o unity apareceu.

Depois disso tentei consertar a khda, fazendo o processo inverso, assim:
1-sudo apt-get install ppa-purge
2-sudo ppa-purge ppa:unity-team/staging

Mas não deu certo. Eu, agora, simplesmente, não consigo abrir minha pasta pessoal, meu micro com processador i3 e 4 giga de ram tá lento e travando.

Não sei se me faço entender, mas peço ajuda para resolver este problema.

Você fez um upgrade da interface, a antiga foi substituída.

Tentativas:

- Reinicie a sessão. No ícone de engrenagem, escolha 'Gnome Clássico' ou outro que achar melhor.
- Remova o 'ppa:unity-team' no 'sources.list do Ubuntu.
$ sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

- Remova o PPA, salve e feche o Gedit.
- Atualize: sudo apt-get update
- Remova o Unity e reinstale-o.

Reinicie a sessão e escolha 'Ubuntu'.

Não encontrei o tal do ppa para apagar.
No entanto dei sudo apt-get remove unity e depois reistalei. Mas o problema ainda persiste: a pasta pessoal não abre.

Obrigado pela informação, guri.

Consegui acessar o ppa, via terminal, com o comando find. Depois deletei com o camando purge.Depois desinstalei o unity via central de programas, reiniciei a máquina e reinstalei o unity.

Entretando, o problema persiste: não consigo acessar minha árvore de diretórios pelo modo gráfico. minha pasta pessoal, com todos os meus arquivos não abre (lembrei-me dos meus tempos tenebrosos de Rwindows, quando vírus, corrompiam com o hd em dois tempos)

Então o problema não é com o unity, certo? ou não? Sei lá :_)

Na verdade, eu gostaria muito de ser ajudado a resolver o problema de minha pasta pessoal, sem precisar recorrer a reinstalação do zero.

Grato aos que tentaram me ajudar. Aprendi alguma coisa. Então valeu.mas não aguento mais meu ubuntu 11.10 parecendo ruindows vista rodando em 486.
Vou reinstalar tudo.
