Problema no yum [RESOLVIDO]

Pessoal peço ajuda em um seguinte problema, quando vou utilizar o yum aparece a seguinte msg

required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

No module named cElementTree

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:

ja instalei alguns pacotes que o yum necessita e sempre aparece seguinte mensagem

"erro: Dependências não satisfeitas:
yum < 3.2.0 conflita com <nome do pacote recem instalado>"

e se tento instalar o pacote python aparece assim

"o pacote python-2.4.3-27.el5.i386 já está instalado"


ja procurei todo tipo de topico e nao encontrei resposta

qual seria o meu erro?
qual o procedimento correto?

essa versao do python é muito antiga... tenta instalar a 2.6.x pode ser que ajude... qualquer coisa posta ae...

Deu certo. removi o phyton e instalei novamente..
