É com muito orgulho que posto esta dica, minha primeira no site.

Como todos sabem, foi lançando recentemente a versão Alpha do Fedora 17, o qual vem com: GNOME Shell 3.4 com aceleração por software; como usuário de uma placa SIS 672 em meu notebook CCE, isto me chamou atenção.

Aqueles que querem testar o GNOME com aceleração por software, disponibilizo o meu arquivo xorg.conf

(não está lá tão bom, sou iniciante no Linux, mas consegui resolução de 1200 por 768, embora no mesmo xorg...eu coloquei em determinada linha 1200X800... só consegui 1200 por 768).

Para iniciantes (como eu mesmo, que apanhei muito) basta copiar este conteúdo no Gedit, e salvar com nome de "xorg.conf" em sua pasta home. Após salvar, abra terminal e logue-se como root (digite su e sua senha) e digite:

# cd /home/seu_usuário

Ou diretório onde salvou o arquivo. E após isso, entre com este comando:

# cp xorg.conf /etc/X11

Depois basta reiniciar o PC, e ir em System Settings -> Displays e alterar pra 1200x768.

Pessoal, realmente gostaria de entender o por quê mesmo colocando 800 apareceu 768, aguardo sugestões.

Bom, como eu disse, este arquivo precisa de uns retoques, ficarei feliz com sugestões! Sou iniciante e estou curtindo muito o Linux. Espero que este xorg.conf dê uma mãozinha pra quem quiser testar o Fedora 17 em notebooks com placas SIS 672
