Dúvida sobre resolução de tela

Pessoal,tenho um notebook com o Ubuntu 8.04 desktop edition,soh que minha placa de video não é uma Gforce,mais sim uma placa de video compartilhada até 256MB.O meu Ubuntu 8.04 soh aceita resolução de 800x600.

Gostaria de saber:

Como faço para configurar o Xorg.conf para que o Ubuntu 8.04 aceite resolução de 1024x768?

Cara tive mtos problemas com isso tbm, pois o Ubuntu 7.10 q eu tinha ele aceitava qlqr resolução, qdo mudei para a 8.10 nao dava certo.

Uma solução q eu encontrei foi pegar o xorg.conf q funcionava e sobrescreve-lo no 8.10
Deu certo :D

Segue o exemplo do meu xorg:

Vc só precisa saber se a sua placa também é da SIS, como a do colega aí de cima.

Use o comando abaixo para saber:

lspci | grep Display
