Olá, sou cesar,
uso o linux kurumin 7
e gostaria de saber como solucionar o seguinte problema:

Meu modem:Agere Systems PCI-SV92P Soft Modem, não encontra linha telefônica...

Eu uso Dual Boot, linux e windows xp em duas partições diferentes.
No windows eu conecto a internet Dial-up normalmente pelo discador do ig, no linux o kppp não acha o sinal da linha
eu tento aparece "Modem esta pronto" depois tenta discar e aparece "Linha ocupada-aguardando 5 segundos".
Qual pode ser a solução do problema?

ME AJUDEM.!^^
vi muitas vantagens em se usar o dual com o windows...
quem me ensinou a instalar os dois, me recomendou o fedora core9
mas é grande pra baixar.3,3gb
eu achei o kurumin 7, é bom, mas teve esse problema com o driver do modem!!!

Tem de ver se o softmodem é suportado pelo Kurumin. Até pouco tempo atrás os agere mais novos não tinham drivers no Linux.

Abra um terminal e descubra os IDs e chipset do modem $:
dmesg
Então faça uma busca no google p/ saber se ele tem suporte Linux. Ou, busque em
http://www.guiadohardware.net/
