Galera alguém pode me ajudar eu tenho uma placa mãe asus com rede integrada Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet Nic queria saber é necessário instalar algum driver para o ubuntu reconhecer, e outra pergunta depois disso como configuro usuário e senha para conectar-me na internet pelo ubuntu??

Para fazer com que sua placa seja identificada pode usar o ndiswrapper.

je0v4ne, blz até baixei o que vc pediu naquele outro topico do link indicado mas acho qe o meu caso é configurar mesmo qual a opção ou comando que tenho que executar para colocar usuario e senha para acessar a internet??

Se for velox. speedy ou coisa parecida é facil, digite no terminal

sudo pppoeconf

(vai abrir o configurador, ele vai indentificar sua placa de rede automaticamente, dai vc coloca o email e a senha do provedor, segue alguns passos, aceitando ou negando, pronto!)

feito isso use, os comandos:

pon dsl-provider (conecta)
plog (verifica status da conexao)
poff -a (desconecta)

# pppoeconf

Galera peço um pouco de paciencia pois sou novato em linux. fiz o que o meu amigo disso para instalar o flash mas não consegui deu um erro impossovel achar o pacote flashplugin-nonfree. E agora o que faço um abraço

Tenta o seguinte...

# apt-cache search flash

E possivelmente ele vai encontrar algo nos repositorios, então é só copiar e colar. E manda baixar.

Configure o sources.list primeiro, acesse no terminal:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Descomente repositorios que tiver comentando com # na frente da palavra deb, exemplo:

# Ubuntu supported packages
#deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy main restricted


ficando assim:

# Ubuntu supported packages
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy main restricted

e adicione o media ubuntu, usando esse artigo:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

Feito, atualize o sistema

aptitude update
aptitude safe-upgrade
aptitude full-upgrade

Agora instale tudo em seu ubuntu:

aptitude install flashplugin-nonfree

dbahiaz, a minha versão do Ubuntu é o 7.10 vc acha que isso pode estar ocasionando estes pequenos probleminhas??
