Problemas com impressora Epson no Mint [RESOLVIDO]

Eu tinha uma impressora Epson funcionando perfeitamente no meu linux Mint Serena, na semana passada eu atualizei via Mintupadate para a versão Tara desde então a impressora deixou de imprimir, o aplicativo espson-printer-utility não detecta a impressora, o gerenciamento de impressoras detecta o modelo mas mesmo assim ela não imprime, já testei a impressora em outra máquina e ela funciona, também já tentei a solução de problemas do gerenciador e nada, alguém sabe o que acontece?

Ola,

já tentou reinstalar os drivers de sua impressora? Os drivers podem ser encontrados em:

http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/searchModule

Durante a atualização pode ter havido algum conflito entre dependências. Fazer atualização de uma versão para outra pode dar problemas. Melhor fazer uma instalação limpa. O Linux Mint 18.1 (Serena) é baseado no Ubuntu 16.04, enquanto que o Linux Mint 19 (Tara) é baseado no Ubuntu 18.04.

Mas antes de reinstalar os drivers, acredito que seja melhor desistalar o que está instalado.

Sim e já fiz isso desinstalei e instalei novamente e nada, curioso que o aplicativo epson printer utility consegue enxergar a impressora e até imprimir uma página de teste, o programa de scan genérico consegue se comunicar com a máquina(multifuncional), porém o programa da epson não, enfim ainda estou procurando em algum forum um problema semelhante que tenha sido solucionado, talvez seja alguma coisa na configuração do CUPs? Uma mensagem de erro que aparece é "filter failed", alguém sabe o que significa?

Tente configurar pelo CUPS, em vez da interface normal do Mint. Tive problemas desse tipo no Ubuntu 18.04 e só resolvi desta forma. Endereço do CUPS: http://localhost:631/ Boa sorte!

Vai pelo simples ... volta para o 18 , tem 3 anos de suporte ainda ... esse Mint 19 tá dando problema de tudo quanto é jeito !!!!
